I moved less than 5 years ago from another country, I currently take English Honors classes (although I did crappy on the SAT II Lit), and I seem to be exceptional in my the third language I am currently learning at school. I am fluent in both English and another language, but my mother tongue is the foreign language. Will my academics be enough to justify my fluency in English for top schools? Do I still need to take the TOEFL?

E-mail the schools you are applying to or find on your schools’ website to see what are the qualifications to exempt the test.

I remember for Boston C and Northeastern, you just had to make like above a 550 on your SAT verbal. Something like that.

That TOEFL is expensive! So definitely look into it.

Cornell is 670 minimum, by the way :)

Some other Ivies also state if you’ve been instructed in your schooling in English that’s fine as well.
