Does a Cambridge AICE diploma with distinction add any significant weight to my application?

I’m applying to a few ivy league schools. I am in a college preparatory program at my school called Cambridge AICE. It’s basically the British version of the AP program and the IB program but it is more globally and internationally recognized. When you graduate high school you are awarded a Cambridge diploma in addition to the standard high school diploma. You can view this website if you want more info:

I’m also taking several AICE exams this year but regardless of what scores I get on them I have already amassed 490 points. This will give me the Cambridge AICE diploma with distinction, the highest level of merit that this program offers. I’ve read some articles that if you get this diploma then you can automatically be admitted as a sophomore at some universities such as Stetson University. I’ve also read that you can also graduate within two years at some universities and colleges with this academic award as well as it gives an immense amount of college credit. But I can’t seem to find much information that discusses what some ivy leagues think of this program. Does it add some weight to your application and distinguish you from the rest of the pile? Or, do they just view it as AP courses?

Anyone? I appreciate any feedback you may have. thanks.

I would imagine that, yes, your AICE diploma will certainly help you stand out amongst your peers. Unfortunately, I don’t think many people (if anyone) on CC can accurately tell you how an Ivy League school would view it. In my opinion as a student, it is a more significant accomplishment than just being an AP scholar.

Hope this helps!

Schools in Florida will be very used to this program.
For applications outside of Florida (ie., commonapp schools in particular), make sure your guidance counselor explains what that is.
When it’s recognized, it’s definitely recognized as one of the most rigorous programs in the US, and achieving distinction is nice in addition to that.

Thank you!
