Hello everyone! I'd really appreciate any words of wisdom so please do share anything you have! :)

I'm currently a junior (11th grade) and run varsity cross country (fall smester) and track & field (spring semester). I have been on the team since I was a freshman, so two a half years, but I am by no means an outstanding runner.

Now that it's spring semester, I am considering quitting completely since I have a zero period and can leave after fifth period (2:15ish), instead of staying late at sixth period practice everyday (till about 6ish). I get A's and B's, and I feel like those extra three hours a day could really give me the push I need to get me up to all A's. I also have three AP exams, two SATs, and an SAT subject test coming up this semester. With the extra time, I may also take some classes at a community college to take care of some graduation requirements as well as maybe taking care of some GEs.

Besides cross country and track, I am in CSF, National Honors Society, Key Club, Make a Wish Club (cancer), and Paws Club (fighting animal abuse). I tutor kids in a program called Avid at school, tutor middle-school kids outside of school, and volunteer regularly at a skilled nursing facility.

If I quit cross country and track, will that hinder my chances of getting into a good university? I am particularly looking at schools like UC Berkeley, UCLA, and USC. What WILL increase my chances to get into these schools?

Sorry this is so lengthy, but thanks to everyone so much for reading and giving me advice! I appreciate it so much! :)
