Does a later A&O date mean a worse change of getting a class that you need?

I’m a freshman OOS from Illinois. I couldn’t make the long journey to Washington over the summer just to register for classes. So…my A&O date is for September 20th. I already know that I will have to take the math placement exam. However, does having my A&O date in September give me less of a chance to get into classes vs. if my date was during the summer?
