Does a missing application item equal instant rejection?

One of the schools I’m applying to requires SAT subject tests with their last accepted test date being in January. I was scheduled for the January SAT to take the subject tests but they were postponed indefinitely.

I emailed the school and their response was that they would accept the scores but they would not arrive in time for review.

Does missing these scores destroy the chances of an otherwise competitive application? I put a lot of money and time into my app and the essays, and though the school is a reach in the first place, I don’t want my chances to be jeopardized by one component. Will the missing scores equate to instant rejection?

Possibly. Does the school take ACT in lieu of SAT2s? If so, did you submit ACT scores?

I assume that the reason your scores won’t arrive is because of the recent blizzards occurring throughout the east/midwest.

If that is the case, then it is doubtful they will hold this against you as you obviously cannot control mother nature.

@T26E4‌ unfortunately I have only taken SAT Is.

@QuadMaster‌ yes, the inability to send scores is a result of the snow storms.

None of us know and it could be different from school to school. I think you need to contact the school and ask how they will handle it and how it will impact your application.
