Does a school research project count as research?

Or is it only published material?
I did some serious research in an unexplored area of physics(can't divulge details to avoid personal identification) using the limited equipment I had in my poor school. Does it count? If yes, should I send it as a supplement or talk about it as an EC?
Thanks.

As long as it wasnt a project that everyone in the class had to do for a certain course, you can mention it.

Everyone did other, simpler stuff. Basically stuff off the internet.
So where do I mention it?

you mention it in your essays and CV

Many colleges have space for a research project on the application - make sure you dont mention it twice in those applications!
Also, if youre getting a recommendation from the physics teacher, you could perhaps hint at her to write something about it? (but that’s up to you)
Otherwise, just mention it in your essays/ link it to the college-specific essay questions if you can.
Good luck!

Don.t think there are many other ways to show researching ability and talent. so it shud be fine

Dont send in your research unless it is worth sending. Many colleges look down on school projects which are submitted - the have thousands of apps to go through and they do not want to see a frivolous research project.

Having said that, if it has been published/has won an award etc, got for it
