Does a withdrawal from an AP class look bad on college applications?

I'm a senior in high school with a GPA of a 3.0, which means my grades are pretty decent. This year, my classes are all exceptionally easy except for my AP Statistics class. I want to major in psychology when I get to college and I understood that I needed Statistics to get there so I decided to take the course without hesitation. I feel bad because I had to convince my guidance counselor to let me take it since I had not taken an honors math class before. Now, all of my grades are at least a 90+ and I'm barely passing Stat with a 66, which is very bad. I was considering dropping the class since everything else looked great, but my guidance counselor told me that if I decide to drop the class, I'll have to get a W (Withdrawal) on my transcript for colleges to see.

My Stat teacher isn't good at teaching the subject, and I'm not the only one dropping the class, but I'm sure a W will look better than a low grade because I know I will not be able to raise that grade up. I've taken a college course (sociology) last year if that helps just a little bit.

Also, the AP class is a 9th period class, which means it's the last class of the day, if I drop the class, as a senior, I have the option to leave earlier than the other students and underclassmen. Does leaving early look good on college admissions? I have a job and I could use the extra time to get more hours at work.

Is there a way you can get a tutor for the course? If others are struggling, you can work together to teach yourself. Also, colleges can’t see that you leave early during the day. I have my first class free at school and I always sleep in or get up to do hw at school. They don’t know, they only see your grades go up!

Thanks! Most of the kids are already dropping the class before I am, but they have other AP classes and I don’t really know the other kids who actually get good grades in that class. I don’t think I can get an actual tutor that can help me either. I think I’m better off just dropping the class.
