Does AACSB really matter?

I was speaking to a special agent at the IRS about how I was interested in their intern program, and I began to tell her I was planning on transferring to an AACSB accredited school. She wasn't even familiar with what AACSB was! (However she did tell me she has been working for only 1 year now).

Was this an unusual response? Do employers care about this special accreditation?

Thanks

Maybe not specifically but most good schools are AACSB approved. I would question a school that was not.

I use AACSB as an indicator for the strength of business and/or accounting program respectively for college search.

I’m a believer that strong program leads to good placement regardless of employers actually care the AACSB or not.
