Reading, writing & Math in SAT is very rigorous. After Studying for SAT, does ACT becomes easier? Reading, writing and Math strategies should get transferred to ACT.

I studied for the ACT but not the SAT and I got equivalent scores on the tests. I think they require pretty much the same skills.

The main difference between the 2 tests are mainly in the exam technique and focus. The general knowledge required are more or less the same. By practicing either test, you not only improve your test skills, you also review the materials that would definitely help the other test too.

Is it fair to say ACT “English” is akin to SAT “Writing”? Reading , Math are what they are and then there is science section on ACT.

Isn’t there a difference in the way you write Essay in ACT and SAT or they are pretty much the same except in ACT you are given more time?

If I take ACT in December of my senior year, will I be late for early application process? Not sure what the deadlines are for early and regular application process.

ACT essays pretty much require a counterargument paragraph with an example in it. Most people write up to 6 paragraphs so it is longer than the SAT. The essays are more revolved around school topics. The one from April was about if factories should take care of their own waste and the effects it would have on students / economy.
I’m pretty sure December is too late because early applications are around November I believe. You should take it around September in case.

I felt that it was easier after studying for SAT, since i felt that SAT Reading was much harder than ACT Reading, and the maths was slightly harder In ACT than in SAT, but maths was my strength so it didnt’ matter. The science also was fairly challenging for me, whereas the ACT English seemed easier compared to SAT writing. Overall I felt ACT was slightly easier, and it was evident in my scores (2100 in SAT, 33 in ACT).

bella1234: Most EA/ED has deadline in late October to early November. Most RD has deadline between December and March.

ACT website says it can take upto 5-8 weeks to send reports out to colleges. So even if someone takes it in Oct, does that mean they won’t be able to meet even the Regular application deadline?

Can someone confirm how long it takes for ACT to send the reports from the test date?

Most colleges take scores from October as long as you use your free score report to send it to them.
