Okay so there is a somewhat of a rivalry between a fellow student and I for valedictorian (actually she's pretty much valedictorian, I stand no chance against her - she's pretty amazing). However, it should be noted that while we are in the same grade, she is over an entire year older than me. She turns 17 this September and I only turn 16 the following November.
Technically she is supposed to be going into senior year and I am supposed to be going into sophomore year, however we are both going into junior year. She started school a year late and I started school a year early/ skipped a grade. Will colleges take note of that? Because of her age, she also has had many more opportunities than I have. For example, this summer, practically EVERY INTERNSHIP requires you to be at least 16. She's 16, I am only 15. What does this result in? Me being frustrated :(
Will this affect my getting into college?
I mean she's going to be 19 when college begins and I will be 17.
