Does an 800 SAT replace mediocre Math 2?

Hey guys,

I have an 800 math on SAT 1 from earlier. However, I just got my November results back for the SAT 2's and only got 700 on math 2...

As I am applying mainly for the ivies, will my SAT 1 overshine that SAT 2? I know I can retake it, though I am not sure if I can on the given test dates...

Appreciate all input! :)

Buuuuuuuuuuump!

Not really. It’s much easier to get an 800 on math 2 than the sat math, and in general sat ii’s don’t count for nearly as much as the sat

OP is stating the opposite, he got an 800 on SAT math and a lower score on math 2.

I don’t think an 800 replaces the mediocre math 2 unless you don’t send it. Math 2 says much more about one’s success in college level math than SAT math; the former requires knowledge in subjects such as precalculus whereas the latter requires meticulous work for an 800 (i.e. no mistakes on basic math). As long as your taking/have took the highest math track in your school, my recommendation is to not send the math 2. This way, colleges will have to assume that you would’ve done well on this exam.

WHOOOOPS misread that, sorry!!! yeah a 700 on math 2 also shows deficiency when it comes to more difficult mathematics. math 2 is the easiest subject test, so a 700 on that doesn’t really look very good. Also I agree with above poster. My bad!
