<p>Yes, being a potential engineering major makes your acceptance chances harder. Also, stay clear of Architecture, Theatre and other specialized majors.</p>

<p>Go with a major in a field you would enjoy, because it is a hugeee pain to switch to an unrelated major at UCs, and virtually impossible to switch into engineering if you didn't apply for it initially.</p>
