Does an ROTC Scholarship help college acceptance chances?

I was wondering if receiving a National Four Year ROTC Scholarship helps an applicant get accepted, especially to more selective universities? For example UC Berkeley, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, UCLA and USC?? Does having this scholarship make me a more competitive applicant?

Any feedback would be very helpful and greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Will the ROTC Scholarship help make me a more competitive applicant?

Maybe, but even if it does it won’t help substantially.

It can definitely make a difference at those schools that are need aware in admissions and you had need, and it is a kudo, something that does plump up the old awards list, but it will depend upon the school how much weight that would put on the decision.

I was thinking that universities like the fact that full tuition is paid for, so it gives an applicant a leg up, but is this the case at selective universities that don’t necessarily need money??

Also, some ROTC battalions have agreements with the university to admit a specified number of students who weren’t originally accepted, so I would also talk to the battalion of the school you want to attend if you don’t get accepted.
