Took a full tuition merit scholarship at a top 20 that's basically total opposite. I thought I would get over it, but still find myself wondering if I would be happier at Caltech.

Making this thread is probably really unproductive, but may be helpful to those currently in the app process.

Are you having these feelings because you weren’t able to let Cal Tech go, or is their something wrong with the school you are currently attending?

Given that you are smart enough to get an admission offer from CalTech, you shouldn’t have to worry at all. You will do well in any university if you stay focused. I am assuming that you will want to continue your studies beyond undergraduate studies. Getting financial aid for graduate studies is much easier if you get admission.

I am sure it must not have been easy for you to select Vanderbilt over CalTech. Wish you all the best.

A full scholarship from Vanderbilt will be viewed and should be viewed as a big accomplishment in and of itself. It is not just where you graduated to get you to where you want to be in life but a number of factors. Be happy and be proud.
