rescinding a student's admissions decision? does anybody know on what grounds they can rescind? or know of any instances when its occurred? what should you do if you think your decision might be rescinded?

Are both your "transcripts received" and "transcripts validated" boxes checked. If so, you should be fine.

You can have your admission rescinded if you did not abide by the contract you signed saying you will maintain good grades your senior year and what not. Basically, if you get a D or if you drop a class, you may get rescinded.

A problem I had got me rescinded from UCLA but I was okay at UCSD.

Also, its looking like those who did not get their transcripts in on time are getting rescinded. These, however, can be disputed, and fixed by contacting the office, and doing as they say to fix the situation. (generally requiring transcripts resent, and letters from both you and your counselor describing the situation [sent but not recieved, mess up in High School, etc]).

But ya, the other way is any Ds or Fs , or a UC GPA for your senior year below 3.0 weighted. (they're being strict regarding these this year)

thanks! that helps a lot!
