I'm interested in going to the university of north dakota for a major in psychology. I was just wondering if anybody knows anything about the application process, campus life, the town in general, etc...
(PS I know it's cold I don't mind)

Haven’t been there but I have a little second-hand info. Grand Forks is a nice town dominated by the university and the AF base. There’s a lot of parkland, both for recreation and as a flood buffer near the river. GF has close ties to Canada and is frequented by Winnipeggers on weekend shopping trips. UND hockey is a big deal.

Admissions are straightforward.

Good aviation program.

I think University of South Dakota is better. Much lower OOS tuition. UND just isn’t worth the high OOS tuition.

If you’re a resident of one of the Western states, ND is relatively generous with WUE. The state legislator has poured money into the school, particularly its geology and engineering programs (they’re flush with cash from the shale oil boom). I don’t know anything about the psychology department but a guy from my high school goes there for aviation. From third hand accounts, he seems to like it.

Also, I believe the school actually has more Minnesotans than North Dakotans. That’s likely because of the tuition reciprocity and the relative difficulty of getting into U Minn.
