Does anybody know he deadline for CSS profile??

<p>yea...i remmeber seeing this CSS profile thing on one of Michigan's information packets or something...
is this REQUIRED? or is it just a "recommended" thing to fill out?
Also, since we're gonna have to fill out the FAFSA anyway, whats the point in doing the CSS profile?</p>

<p>Certain schools require the CSS/PROFILE, but not all of them. As a rule of thumb, the schools that require it tend to be the ones with the higher endowments. <p>(University of Michigan is one of the schools that requires it.) Also, the deadlines for the CSS/Profile vary from school to school. If you are applying early, you probably already missed the deadline, (but the school will accept it anyways), and if you are applying regular admission to schools that require it, the deadlines usually fall anywhere between January 1st to March 1st. When you register for the CSS/PROFILE, you will select which schools to send it to, and when you do that, it will let you know the exact deadline for each school. However, since it is sent to all schools at once, you will want to get it done by the earliest deadline of your schools.</p>

<p>The CSS and FAFSA are due March 1st... i just checked.
However, the faster you get them in the better/
THe CSS came out Oct 1, and you should do that ASAP
the FAFSA comes out Jan1, and you should try to do that soon after then</p>

the CSS is mainly for NEED based aid, and the fafsa is more need and merit aid
however U of M requires the CSS if you are looking for any form of aid from them at all, so basically required</p>
