From Crystal Prophecy:
My 1st semester grades are seriously becoming unstable and I'm really trying to get them on track. I might be receiving a B- or a C+ in AP Calc BC and I've never even gotten near those grades anywhere on my transcript (I got a 5 on the AB exam, lowest grade is a B+ in 2 or so classes).

I'm applying to the Ivies and I'm REALLY worried that this one grade (my AP Brit and physics are right now A-, so I'm hoping they won't slide to B's any time soon) will kill my chances if they see a C on my midyear report with a possible addition of another B

Has anyone talked to an adcom or admissions rep about this for the Ivies or high-level schools? If so, do you know how much they are weighing those grades or if a C will hurt my chances?

Sorry for the long post and thank you.

(And yes, I have read TokenAdult's thread on this. I just need someone to calm my nerves about THIS semester, not my general GPA)

I'm in tears!
I'm also really worried, I Failed my AP Biology exam! This has never happened to me before and I've been crying about it all day, also only 2 people in the whole class even passed the exam. I got a 62 (F) and so my first semester grade is an 83 (B-), before I had a 4.0 GPA, and straight A's, and although I got a B- in AP Bio this semester all my other semester grades are A's, (besides AP Bio I'm taking AP English, AP calculus AB, intro. to business, aerobics) I took dual credit govt. and economics over the summer and got A's. I also have an out period and student aide in case anyone thinks I have too few classes. My english teacher told me my GPA shouldn't go below 3.9 b/c of this, but I'm still really worried about it!!! I applied to Rice and Brown by the way. I'm pretty sure I won't get into Brown but with Rice I really thought I'd had a chance, is it gone now???
