I know a million people have posted the cutoffs for semifinalists, but what are the cutoffs just for being commended?

cutoffs for commended are the same nationwide...it should be about 203 this year from what ive heard...

When do you actually find out?

Jr89, My D's school notified commended/semifinalists last week. The state semifinalist scores won't be known until September, however on another NM thread there's a list of 2005 state cutoffs, and they should be pretty close to what they'll be this year.

my guidance director said the cutoff for commended is 203, and i received a letter today as well.

Did you get notified through the mail? I called the school today and they said they have nothing to do with notification at this point... but others at CC have been getting the info from their counselors. I'm SO confused. My son scored 211 (CA) so should be commended, but should qualify for National Hispanic as well....any ideas on how that works?

The envelope I received was addressed to me in a manner that implied it should be mailed, but my school district doesn't mail anything because of fiscal issues. Therefore, I received it from my guidance counselor in English.

willsmom,
My daughter got the information about both NMs and NHRP last week from the college prep office of her school. They gave her paperwork to fill out (name two schools, etc.) for NMS. For NHRP her school had to fill out the paperwork, they just confirmed with her that she is hispanic. If you can't get anything from your school, I suggest you call the NMS and NHRP offices to clear things up, you still have time.
