Sorry, by not running for another term I meant a third term. lol

Roosevelt didn’t run for a third term?

They both did omg

Satan seems to forget the Bull Moose Party.

Technically no, because he wasn’t elected to his first term, so he only ran for two. Unless you are talking about FDR, in which case your list was not in correct chronological order.

It wasn’t “ran for three terms” it was “ran for a third term.” So technically yes. Begone, Satan! Withdraw, Lucifer!

That’s semantics and therefore very cheap tactics.

It’s not semantics at all.

Theodore Roosevelt ran for a third term.

He ran to hold office for a third term, he did not run for a third elected term, as Washington’s precedent had been interpreted.

No, Washington’s precedent was two terms. Not two “elected” terms. Not everyone followed it, FDR was just the first (and only) to successfully break it. He was like the king of America.

His precedent was interpreted as two elected terms, though. Or at least that’s how the writers of the 22nd Amendment interpreted it, so I assumed that’s how the others before them did too.

His “precedent” was based on the fact that he wanted to get the hell out of government. I personally don’t think making it an amendment was a good idea. Let the people elect who they wish.

Oh I agree and I know Washington didn’t intend to set a precedent. I guess I just made an assumption I shouldn’t have. lol. Oh well.

But yeah if people think a president is becoming too tyrannical or want a fresh mind with fresh ideas, then they will elect someone new. If not, then I don’t see a need to restrict a person to only a certain number of terms. Again, oh well.

I find it funny that you got post #666.

“Which way I fly is hell”
~ FallenAngel9

What the hell is this thread? Is it just a place where people go to pass the time which they should be using to study for their AP exams?

For those of you who have AP exams, perhaps, but the 9001 thread is better.

I am a Fallen Angel after all.

I studied for my AP exams and I already took them. So all I can do now is chill.

I have four physics lab write-ups, three AP exams, two final projects, and one physics packet before I’m done with school a week from Monday.
