Does Anyone Else Hate Five Star Brand Notebooks?

Or is it just me? I get super frustrated when that's the only option at the store. Their stupid plastic covers **** me off and I'd just rather have the normal notebook instead of the cheap plastic crap. Anyone feel the same way or am I just out there?

[/rant]

fascinating anecdote, brethren

I don’t know, they’re better than other plastic notebooks.

I love dem.
They’re pretty and don’t get totally destroyed by the end of the year like those cheapo 10 cent ones.
Plus I find them for like 2 bucks a pop at Walmart.

I don’t waste my money on ****.

I dont buy notebooks, I buy one giant folder full of loose-leaf and keep literally every paper in there.

It gets huge r’al quick.

Blasphemy. I’ve used nothing but them for several years now. Any other cheaper notebook tends to end up in tatters within a few months.

Plastic seems pretty good to me. What would you prefer, leather? =P

^Dragonhide.

I just like the traditional cardboard spiral bound. I’m a tad bit picky on things though.

They’re way too bulky. I like the 70 cent 1 subject spiral notebooks lol.

Five Star makes quality products. I bought about 10 Five Star plastic folders Freshman year and they’re still good as new. This is coming from a guy who used to buy paper folders twice or three times in a year. I’ve also bought nothing but Five Start college ruled notebooks, and if I didn’t run out of pages, I could use those forever too.

Five Star might be more expensive up front, but in the long run, the durability saves you a ton of money. I think I only spent $20 on school supplies this year since I was able to reuse most of my stuff.

I love Five Star notebooks with a passion. Mostly because of their more durable covers (which definitely aren’t cheap). Normal notebooks always fall apart on me, so I’m fine with making my parents pay a few extra dollars for decent Mead notebooks every year. :)

And the perforations are dank. The feeling you get when you rip out a sheet is practically orgasmic.

They are durable and their perforations are a lot better than other notebooks (if those other notebooks even have perforations at all).

The only notebooks I buy.

I agree wit da opp
5 star can, and should, please blow my butt
the plastic folds in wayyy to easily, and the perforations are far from dank.
staples brand is way betta

composition notebooks. Like these. http://s7d5.scene7.com/is/image/Staples/s0240374_sc7?$sku$

So much better, the pages never tear out.

^But the pages are so short and the lines are so wide. I’d probably go through like 50 of those in a semester. Lol. I write kind of big though.

I don’t generally buy their notebooks. I always just get cheap notebooks for less than a dollar (I think they’re around 10 cents at Target when the school supplies sales come around). They’re too expensive for my taste, but they’re worth it for things you expect to have for a long time, like folders or binders. I got a Five Star folder in like 5th grade and I’m still using it as a senior in high school, haha. Not that I can’t afford new folders, I just admire what a trooper its been.

i hate those folders

i had a habit stuffing loose papers into my pronged folder and just pulling them out when i needed them. however, i would always cut my finger on a loose prong, which really irked me

once in the middle of class the teacher asked us to take out our homework. when i was reaching for it in a hurry, i cut my finger deep. i flew into an undying rage, pulling the folder out of my bag and ripping the damn thing in half, my homework along with it :(

my teacher was nice and let me turn in the ripped homework for a reduced grade, but to this day, i blame that goddamned folder
