I don’t think anyone here has an MD…

It might just be that you like some things neat… I am messy but like my books that way too. It’s probably normal. But you need to talk to a professional! Unless it doesn’t bother you and doesn’t interfere with your life…
Don’t worry about it being aspergers or autism, that’s pretty far fetched.

Sarcasm? My point was, none of us can properly diagnose the OP without seeing the extent of her symptoms.

Sounds to me like you have a bad case of blaspherospasmic bone marrow degeneration disorder, otherwise known as BBMDD

I have a strong Psychology background, thinking of going for my Masters in Social Work…

I don’t think those are symptoms of Asperger Syndrome or Autism at all! You probably just have an extremely detail-oriented personality with a tendency to be a little obsessive about things. I am the same way. For example, if I am adjusting the volume on my TV or stereo, I have to leave it at a number that ends with 5 or 0 even if that isn’t the exact volume I want. If I roll the windows down in my car they have to be all at the same height. I am obsessive about lots of other random little things, as well. In order to not let it take over my life, I have begun to practice leaving things in a way that I don’t like or makes me feel uncomfortable. I then focus on this question, “If I leave it like this, what is the worst that could happen?” It is a struggle, but it has really worked for me.

I also strongly recommend counseling or therapy of some sort. I’m sure they offer it at your school. If you are stressing over little things like your clothes or crayons, I’m positive there are other things going on in your life that are taking up too much of your energy. There is NOTHING wrong with seeing a therapist or counselor. If more people did, I feel the world would be a better place!

I wish you the best of luck!

yea, I’m very detail-oriented. But it’s far from autism. It doesn’t control my life. It just makes me to dress longer, and have thing perfect. Like today I tried not to care, and just ignore any flaws.

@MyNorthernLights great advice.

I find myself doing the same thing…I still do the crayon thing with my colored pencils…

Psht. How could you possibly find a flaw in Jersey13?

Edit: Also, I am really neat though…unless I am stressed; I am a total disaster when stressed.

wow MyNorthernLights, I never thought of it that way. I also leave volumes at specific numbers that I like, even if it’s not the exact one I want. maybe we are just different that way
