Does anyone else use the scattergrams thing on your school's family connections site?

It always gives me hope after I'm depressed by everyones amazing stats on CC. Like one kid got into Harvard with a 4.4 weighted GPA (my school calculates it out of 5 points and the Val usually has around a 5.5) and another kid got into Yale with a 4.22 and only a 2150 SAT.

the scattergrams thing…never heard of this .

It’s basically a tool that is linked to your GPA and test score that has all of the schools people have applied to in the last few years and they put where you are in relation to the people test score and GPA wise that got in, got rejected, or got waitlisted on a graph for whatever school you choose from a drop down menu.

Yeah we use those. A kid from my school got into harvard with a 3.5 weighted. But he agrees to play three sports there, so it’s comparing apples and oranges.

Naviance?
and Yeah they are somewhat helpful.

It actually made me feel worse when I saw Wake Forest’s scattergram. Amazingly enough, CC’s stats in chance threads were worse than my school’s.

It keeps saying “there is not enough information to plot this graph” >:(

Apparently some kid at my school got waitlisted at Harvard with a 4.0 WGPA (valedictorian usually has 5.8+ because of weird weighting system) and a ~1250 SAT (out of 2400). WHAT. And then some kid got accepted to Brandeis with a 2.8 WGPA and a ~1000 SAT (out of 2400).

Same here. Not enough data even for colleges with 35 people. Am I doing it wrong?

Are you going by some test score that most people don’t have like IB or something? If not I’m not sure what is wrong.

On an unrelated note is family connection related to CC in any way? On some parts of the website it directs to CC’s website.

No I tried all the scores. Strange.
