Does anyone find this offensive?!

Does anyone here find this article in the least bit offensive?
<a href="http://www.cornellreview.org/viewart.cgi?num=374%5B/url%5D">http://www.cornellreview.org/viewart.cgi?num=374</a></p>

waaaahhhhh waaaaahhhhh waaaaahhhhhhh

Offensive my a$$. As long as plenty of ultra-leftist media material is still available for people to read, then there is absolutely nothing wrong with this article. Freedom of speech is a good thing, ya know.

I find it amusing. All I can say is...who cares? Did it ever occur to the people who wrote this that maybe, just maybe, the most qualified people were hired?

And come on -- "Leftist professors outnumber conservatives by 11:1" -- it's not a war...at least it shouldn't be.

Don't cry Ameechee it will be ok

actually that crying was referring to you

i find it stupid
but there will always be articles like that

unfortunately, from both sides too.

yes yes
i never said it comes from only one side

I agree with Tranorix. Is it a coincidence that Republicans generally have much less education than Democrats? Is it a coincidence that GOP stronghold Texas has the lowest high school graduation rate in the country? And last, but not least, is it a coincidence that the majority of students at the Ivy Leagues and other top colleges/universities in the US, who happen to be the brightest in the country, are liberal?

Of course, the Cornell Review would probably say that its a "Neo-Ultra-Marxist Liberal" conspiracy in the education system just as how the media are supposedly liberal as well. Bunch of 'bullpoo' if you ask me.

Why are the some of the wealthiest people in the nation Republicans? Sweeping generalizations can work in the favor of either side (and, yes, I'm a Democrat, and I know some of the answers to the first question....point is that you're always going to be able to criticize the other side for some stupid argument they make). Ameechee is correct; both sides do stupid stuff like this; its best to ignore baseless arguments and focus on what really matters.

My $0.02.

Well, simple answer to that is that Republicans have traditionally favoured lax restrictions for the rich. If I had a lare business during an economic recession, I'd probably think of voting Republican as well once in a while.

And dont think I'm actually worrying about what some random guy rants on about in the Cornell Review.

Thanks for posting the article, TylerZelda. I can't say I felt offended, more delighted that Cornell students are making full use of the First Amendment. I've yet to have a Republican history teacher in high school, yet I feel I've been exposed to all ends of the political spectrum.

Haha. The article made me want to go to Cornell even more. I'm tired of being practically the only "baby-killer" in my class.

Cornell has a distinguished faculty. Most distinguished scholars are intelligent. Since they are 91% liberal, maybe most intelligent people are liberal?

I can see the retaliatory posts coming.

just to strengthen what odysseus said, take a look at this chart that shows the relationship between average state IQ's and who each state voted for in the 2004 presidential election. If you don't believe in the validity of IQ scores, you can check other links on this site that reflect the same pattern using different information. (i.e. %of college graduates, SAT/ACT scores)

<a href="http://chrisevans3d.com/files/iq.htm%5B/url%5D">http://chrisevans3d.com/files/iq.htm</a></p>

WOW that's quite a correlation! I love this statistical stuff..

By the way, Merry Christmas to all those celebrating!

I'm just wondering...why is this offensive when its absolutely true?

What's true, that Cornell resembles a NYC subway station?! Does the University need an "affirmative action" for conservative professors?

No it doesnt need an affirmative action for professors...but whats true is that it is overly liberal and that IS impacting the education that the students are getting whether you want to believe it or not...

is it just Cornell that has an extremely high leftist ratio?

I would be interested to see a national ratio, or ratios of other ivy league colleges
