Hi boardinggoaler, I'm a rising senior (and a tour guide!) at Lawrenceville. Your record is very impressive--there's no denying that. However, the only thing that you are lacking is that extra special "something," whatever it is, that makes you stand out from the crowd. Your accomplishments show that you are a hardworking and dedicated student but then again, so is the next person. There is a high percentage of Asians at Lawrenceville and they are mostly Korean. So my question is-- what makes you special? What can you contribute to Lawrenceville that nobody else can?

As for the interiew, well I remember thinking that they basically asked me "What do you like to do?" in various ways... i.e. "What do you do in your spare time?" or "Which activity do you plan on participating in at Lawrenceville?"

Lastly, sports are a huge, but by no means crucial, aspect of being a "Lawrentian." As you may know, Lawrenceville requires students to fulfill some athletic credit every term, but this ranges from demanding Interscholastic teams to less demanding "sports" such as ballet. However, a great thing about Lawrenceville Athletics is that they love the idea that a student would put him/herself out there to try something new. Show that you are open to new experiences... that will definetly earn you some brownie points.

On the other hand, it is also that you have a lot of interest in music. Lawrenceville's Music Department is fantastic and I must say we do love a good concert from time to time. :-)

I wish you the best of luck! Oh, and they're suckers for community service-- so go get some hours!

I will also be a rising senior at Lville. At my interview, I was asked if more than twice if I had "any more questions about the school" so prepare several of those, though I think every interviewer at Lville is very different about the way they conduct interviews.

I am living in Korea right now, right this minute breathing. That is because I am join to an international school… Anyways, I think you should try to be a lithe unique and different from the other students who are applying. Then, they might pick you since you are different from the other students from Korea. You can’t be sure if you will get in or not, but still, I think you should do some sports or some art? Like visual arts… I think you should add some awards maybe like the big ones
