Does anyone have admissions statistics for

the College of Arts and Sciences for Regular Decision?
I'm interesting race (especially Asian), SAT scores, acceptance rate, geographical distribution, etc.
If someone could help me, out I'd really appreciate it! Thanks.

WOW! thanks!
EDIT: it should say I’m interested in, not interesting lol.

That’s some really in-depth information, csdad. Thanks.

lol @ the 1,000 idiots who applied without even choosing a school.

LOL yeah… that’s pretty epic fail.

how do you even mess that up? what the hell did they do for the supplement…?

wow! Human Ecology has like the best SAT scores. Didn’t see that coming

Shameless bump…
I think other applicants would love to have access to this info

Too bad that information isn’t released just for the CAS?

The closest you will get will be the profile of the class of 2013.

[Let me google that for you](http://lmgtfy.com/?q=cornell+admissions+statistics)
It’s the first link.

“Human Ecology has like the best SAT scores.”

??? That’s not how I read those charts, but whatever…

Average SAT of Enrolled Students by College
ENG - 1440
CAS - 1395
ILR - 1375
HumEc - 1370
AAP - 1370
CALS - 1350
HOTEL - 1310

I will not that those are NOT admission statistics, just ENROLLMENT statistics. It can be assumed that the kids that were accepted to Cornell but chose to go elsewhere have higher average SAT scores. This means that the average SAT for ADMITTED students is probably a bit higher.

Amongst Contract Colleges, Hum Ec does indeed have the best scores. Amongst all? Not by a long shot.

Also malan, where did you find these stats?

wait i have a question. you know in the first link where it says the amount of men and women accepted…and then a separate column of those who actually end up going there…what happens to the other spots? are the people in waitlisted included or disregarded? (i’m specifically referring to CALS)

Waitlists don’t really matter - Cornell hardly ever goes into it. Last year I think they took 20 people off of the waitlist.

They were posted earlier in the thread.
To find the median for each section, add the 25th and 75th percentiles and divide them by two. Then I just added the medians for verbal and math to produce the numbers I posted earlier. That makes ENG (1440) and CAS (1395) the SAT leaders by far with ILR (1375) leading the rest of the pack and HumEc and AAP (1370) not far behind. Bottom line, the scores aren’t the primary consideration. I’m sure most AAPers wouldn’t get into HumEc and vice versa, despite having the same SAT score 50th percentile.
EDIT: Where is the “HumEc has the highest scores” thing coming from? I don’t see it in those numbers…
EDIT AGAIN: Okay, yeah, it’s the median, not the average. I’ll change that.

Human Ec is a close second (94% to 95%) to engineering in the category of “% of entering freshman in the top 10% of their class”…

great except that many private schools (probably more represented in CAS)and certain publics do not rank at all…
