<p>window decorations!! I love gel gems to decorate my window, and the red sox, american flag, stickers and the whole sha bam. cut outs from magazines? funny cards from friends (or from yourself lol). pictures of family members, anything your friends and family gave you!!</p>

<p>some of my friends i know that they got christmas lights and sparkly feather boas and put them around the edge between the celing and wall. whatever that crack is called (:</p>
<p>at some schools you can get in trouble for hanging stuff from the ceiling....</p>
<p>At some schools you can get in trouble for twinkle lights too! But both that and hanging things from the ceiling could easily be considered a fire hazard.</p>
<p>I have a slightly weirder but nonetheless cool idea for decorating- fans. If you get a white fan it's really fun to draw with bright markers (sharpies work great) on the blades, but just like stripes and big dots that match the colors of your room. When you turn it on-- tada!</p>

<p>Yeah basically! It looks a lot like those spiral art things they used to sell in infomercials, where it spun the paper around and you squirted paint on it to make a cool picture.</p>
<p>they probably won't let you draw on the ceiling fan...kind of a downer for the next years kids in your dorm.</p>
<p>People: don't underestimate the importance of getting your room properly decorated! Freshman fall my room was undecorated for the first few weeks and it was depressing as hell; even I didn't want to spend any time in there. Here's what I would recommend:</p>
<ul>
<li>Posters! Or anything that covers up the bleakness of the walls</li>
<li>Rug - you can get a cheap throw rug at target or something. It makes everything seem much more homey. </li>
<li>bright lamp - our dorms have fluorescent lightbulbs and it is ugly, ugly, ugly</li>
</ul>
<p>pretty basic stuff, but it's made my room about 1000x nicer.</p>
<p>Oh haha I was thinking more mini clip-on fan or floor fan. That wouldn't be a good idea if it was a ceiling fan lol.</p>
<p>to decorate my room i'm bringing pillows my friends made for me in school in Home Economics class. it was really sweet when they presented teh pillow to me and i almost cried.</p>
