Does anyone have experience with honors fraternities and/or business ones? (w/ names)

Hi! I'm asking parents of CC (hopefully we have some alumnis!) or anyone who peeks in on what being in a co-ed honors fraternity or business one is like, or if a parent has a D or S in one!

I'm not talking about those invite-only ones, I'm talking about the ones you have to rush/pledge for. My campus only has Phi Sigma Pi for honors and Alpha Kappa Psi for the business pre-professinal one.

Like, are these prestigious enough to pay all of the dues? Will I benefit from them? How different or alike are they from the "traditional" sororities/fraternities?

I know these things differ chapter from chapter, but I'd like a general overview if people think it is worth the dues. I would very much love to be with a Greek letter organization in my college career, but the one sorority I rushed for, I felt like, was not worth my dues (because I felt very discriminated by my so-called "sisters" for being one of the few minorities).
I'm thinking of rushing again and choosing much more carefully during rush week or going for an co-ed honors/business fraternity. I feel like going honors or business may benefit me more in the long-run, but not sure how much prestige it holds.

Thoughts? :)

My daughter joined Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity, and it’s co-ed, and there was a rushing/pledging process. It’s community service oriented but I believe there are networking possibilities for business or career purposes.

Hope this helps!
