Does anyone have experience with Ithaca's OT BS/MS program?

My daughter got accepted into the program with some merit scholarship money, she wants to become a pediatric OT. Are there any current or former OT students or their parents who would be willing to share their experience? Program quality, workload, internship opportunities etc.

Her other option is SUNY Binghamton (much less $ even out of state) and then OT for graduate. She liked both schools when we visited. We know a bunch of people with kids at Binghamton but don't know anyone at Ithaca which makes it more difficult to decide

I’d like to know as well…

need plan b : my daughter was accepted to the 5 year program this year…did your daughter decide to go to ithaca? how is she doing?

teegeepen, yes, she is there, she is a sophomore. She loves the school, doing well so far academically and socially, it ended up being a good fit for her. She only had a couple of OT classes so can’t speak of her personal experience with the program yet. Based on the information she got from older OT students, it gets harder in the junior year and gets really tough in the senior year. General science classes are easier if you’ve taken AP (as expected), she didn’t take AP bio or AP chem in HS and had to work much harder than those who did but it was still doable. I agree with the assessment that Ithaca attracts a “nice group of people”. I always hear about a few of them studying together for finals etc. There is a fair amount of partying, drinking and drugs which was more of an issue in the freshman year (again, I think a typical college thing). It does get very cold in the winter so make sure your daughter is ok with that.
