Does anyone have experience with Kaplan Intensive Review for LSAT

Does anyone know about the Kaplan Intensive Review..it's 300 hours of lsat prep this summer at Boston Univ. and costs about $11,000 with room and board. Has anyone ever done the course and was it worth it? I really want to get in the 170's since my gpa is nearly 3.9 and I ONLY want to attend a T14 school
Thanks

I haven’t gone over the curriculum for this program, but I would be willing to bet anything that while it may not be a waste of time and money, per se, then it is almost certainly grossly inefficient. Nobody needs to spend this much money on LSAT prep. Nobody. If you really want to drop that much money on LSAT prep, go with a company with some credibility. PowerScore or TestMasters private tutoring could still end up setting you back several thousands of dollars, but it would probably still be cheaper than this program and almost certainly more effective.

Kaplan really is the dumps when it comes to LSAT prep.

$11,000 is pretty ridiculous!!! Kaplan also doesn’t work with real LSAT questions, they make up their own. Go with Testmasters; they use REAL LSAT questions. My husband is a private tutor (was, he’s at a law firm this summer) and he’s really helped a LOT of people with figuring out what they’re doing wrong. Group sessions are also good, but go with private tutoring. Their training is VERY intense also, and they are VERY selective with tutors.

wow, i never knew such programs existed and that ppl would actually be willing to shell out that much money for the lsat (unless, of course, this is a joke)

Kaplan Intesive Review is certainly not a joke. A few years ago, as I was preparing for the exam, I was researching course options (ultimately went with self-study) and came across Kaplan’s. It’s a total joke. It’s summer camp for the super-neurotic who also have too much money on their hands and poor research skills vis-a-vis prep options.

Fortunately, I think Kaplan has finally moved away from homegrown questions. Their website notes that students each get a personal copy of every actual LSAT question ever published:

But while that’s an improvement, Kaplan’s methods remain at the bottom of the barrel.

there u have it. kaplan sucks. just take a look at crnchycereal’s progressive dementia resulting from his/her exposure to their advertisement

I’ve only heard bad things about Kaplan’s LSAT program.

$11k is a lot of beer.

You’re mistaking dementia for subtle LSAT training. My argument contains flawed reasoning by “equivocating with respect to a key term”-- the term “joke”!

But yeah, I guess I didn’t really proofread what I’d written. But you guys get the general idea.

“Kaplan also doesn’t work with real LSAT questions, they make up their own.” WRONG, Rachelsasao; Kaplan uses only real questions and gives students access to all released LSAT questions. Please don’t post incorrect “information” as though it’s fact - it’s unhelpful.

this is a four-year old thread…
