I was wondering if anyone hears from RISD and Pratt when they are going to send out their admission letter. In the pass, when they will send out the accepted letter?

I’ve recieved a small envolope from both saying they have recieved my full application and it’s ready for review. But that’s it.

Like brianm02, I have also received an email and letter from them stating that my application is complete and currently under review and that “I want to wish you luck and express our sincere appreciation that you have considered Pratt in your pool of applications.” It was the usual “we’re currently reviewing your application” email/letter and also stated that decision letters and financial aid packages are scheduled to go out by the end of March. So keep an eye on your inbox and mailbox. ;)

Yes, I received that too, that it’s.

I wish they would have had ealier deadlines, and thus ealier notification. I have been accepted to University of Illinois already and I need to figure out where I’m going. I’ve applied to RISD, Pratt, and MICA and I won’t know the full extent of finanical aid I am to recieve until mid April. And I have to have a decision for UI by May. Crazyness!

Last year, most people got their acceptance letters from Pratt on March 31. (Some of them got around early April)

Argh. I haven’t heard anything from Pratt. I emailed them 2 weeks ago asking about the status of my application but still didn’t get any responses. I think I should call them now!!

Jazztonish I would do that if I were you. I sumbitted everything a month after the deadline and I have recieved an email and letter about it’s completion.
Maybe the mail just got lost.

I guess so, brianm02.
I’m gonna call them tomorrow if the admissions office opens on Saturday.

The deadline for Pratt was Jan 5, I don’t know why take them so long to send out their notification sooner. Yes, I want to compare with all the financial aid information and see which school is offering the best package.

I don’t know if it is good idea to call them and ask them when they are going to send out the notification. Do you think they will tell me if I call them?

Jazztonish, thank you for the link from last year, that was helpful for me to relieve some of my anxiety.

Guys, the majority of schools don’t let you know until the end of March/beginning of April. That’s just how it is. Be patient. Don’t call to nag them, unless you’re concerned about the status of your application and want to make sure they received everything. Otherwise, do not call.

Hope is alive. I remember 2 years ago going through this horrible horrible anxiety with my daughter. We also had the May 1st deadline looming. RISD sent out acceptances and denials in waves. Weeks before, my daughter had heard of people being accepted on this site. I don’t know if they still do this the same way, but 2 or 3 weeks later she received her acceptance. She, in the meantime, had accepted at another school, thinking there was no way she was she going to RISD. So “Keep hope alive”.

^Did she end up being accepted?
And if so, was she already comettied to the other school?

@kathy18903 - no problem! We’re all worried, especially me!

However, I also posted a question asking about my application status on Pratt Community’s Live Journal.
Here: [pratt: Does the admissions office open on Saturday?](Does the admissions office open on Saturday?: pratt — LiveJournal)
And I got a response from an admissions dean, Judith Aaron, that I should send an email to her and Alicia Luhrssen (who I think that she’s in charge of the associate’s degree application).

phew at least I know who I should contact for the help now!

Btw, I think sending an email is a prefered method than calling to their office.

I’ve been accepted by RISD through early action.

Brianm02

Yes, my daughter was accepted. She did not apply early decision to any school so we had the flexibility to decline the other school. We did have to eat the deposit we sent.
She is a sophomore at RISD now. But I remember everyday hearing the mailman opening the mailbox and dropping the mail in. It sounded like a small atomic bomb going off everyday. I’d go to the mailbox and find nothing. AKKKKK!!! Terrible. Glad that’s all over. I have great sympathy for the kids.

LYX
Congrats! Get prepared to work your a%# off!

artmommy
I quit posting but just have to ask.
Did you really did 4,294,967,295 posts or how that work and why numbers don’t go up any more?

I know what you mean about Pratt. The earliest deadline and still no reply. Lame. I applied to Parsons, Mass Art, SCAD, CCA, SFAI all with 2/1 deadlines. Heard from all of them. I even got financial aid packages from CCA, SFAI and SCAD. (still waiting for package from Parsons and Mass Art). My experience with the admissions department at Pratt has been the worst of all of them. Hope the teaching there is better run.

I have applied SFAI too, but I have not heard anything from them yet. I did get accepted to Parson, but I am still waiting their financial package.
