I've posted elsewhere about my daughter's choices this cycle. She's very interested in IR and languages and was accepted at Northeastern, Middlebury, Tufts and this special program at American. She was waitlisted at Georgetown and Harvard.

At this point she's learning toward either Tufts or the Global Scholars Program at American. We live in California and will be visiting both during her spring break a couple of weeks from now.

So far, we've been able to find out very little about the American Global Scholars Program. All we know if the little info on the website--and we know it's a three year accelerated program and that its very small--a cohort of only 24 kids. She's honored to have been chosen for the program, but doesn't know enough about it to weigh it as an option. Does anyone know a students who's gone to this program? Does anyone know any more about its pros and cons?

Secondarily, the financial aid at Tufts was substantially better--has anyone succeeded in getting American to increase their offer? My daughter got a Presidential scholarship there, but no need based aid (which she qualified for at all her other schools).

Thanks!
