I'm asking because I'm thinking of starting a league on yahoo for CCers. It would be free and open to anyone who is interested. However, I think the maximum # of teams in a league is 12, and since my team will take one of these spots, there will be 11 other teams. The first 11 people who want to do it will be chosen for the league. So it's first come, first serve.

Before I make the league, I'll see if enough people are interested. If I get 11 CCers, then I'll discuss the different options for the league (rotisserie, head-to-head, etc.) so there is agreement on how the league is set up.

If you're interested, post now before the 11 spots are taken.

The lack of interest so far actually doesn't surpirse me. People on this site seemed tyo be so obsessed with academics, they can't follow a sport-realted activity like fantasy baseball.

If I ask my brother to join, we'll have 4 teams, which is enough for a league, but wouldn't be that great.

i'd love to play, fantasy baseball is my outlet and God knows I need an outlet now. I'm already in several leagues but the more the merrier! it is a border-line obsession for me.

As for the league setup.
This is how I like it generally:
5x5 (HR, R, RBI, AVG, SB) (W, K, ERA, SV, WHIP)
Roto
25 man rosters with 2 DL spots
C
1B
2B
3B
SS
MI
CI
5 OF
U

6 spots left. It's good to see that people are finally taking interest. I was going to enter a league w/some of my friends from school, but they want to play for $. It costs $150 per team to join their league and that’s $ that I just don’t have. This league will be completely free and is merely for fun and pride. You have to be a member of yahoo to play. However, it’s free to register, so just do that if you haven’t already.

I joined a public league on yahoo last year and I was doing pretty well for the first month or two of the season (2nd out of 12 I believe). However, I got involved in other things during the summer and I was just too busy to keep track of my team. I wound up finishing 8th, which is actually not that bad if you consider the fact that I didn’t look at my team at all for about 2 months. I thought I’d be at the bottom for sure.

This league should keep me interested since we can discuss the league (and thrash talk) in this thread. I didn’t know any of the people in the public league since yahoo just assigns you to one at random. I’m not that experienced at fantasy baseball, but I am a pretty avid baseball fan. It should be good though since it is a way to escape all the GPA/SAT/Ivy league talk that usually goes on here.
