Currently a 2nd year mechanical engineering student, and textbook prices are pretty high where I am and I rarely buy used, or resell my books (unless they are completely useless) -those are just my pet peeves/quirks about me -.

I am considering buying a tablet such as the Amazon Kindle Fire HD, and it seems that the Amazon Kindle textbook selection has vastly improved since I last saw it, and they even offer e-Textbooks for rent, where you pay less than you would purchase it and use the book for a limited, but sufficient time. Additionally, the prices for the Kindle Version of books to own is cheaper than if I went out and bought the textbook at my book store.
Another thing I see is that the Kindle Store has print-replica textbooks which are supposed to be just look like the actual print version of the book (again, supposedly). And reading from the tablet's description, you can search through the book, highlight, take notes, etc.

So wondering if anyone here does use e-Textbooks and tell me your experiences with them along with what service you use/tablet you own (Kindle vs Nexus vs Nook, Chegg.com, etc), and major (since I do think some majors may not work well with e-textbooks)

Thanks
