cuz I totally do, and I'm just curious as to what other people do

I write fiction, but I’ve never really been into poetry. It’s sometimes fun dissecting poems and figuring out metaphors and allusions and stuff, but I’m not really into it.

Btw, I’ve been sitting at my desk, doing homework and reading the posts here for hours and it feels like we’ve all just been having one big conversation with each other for hours. We indeed have no lives at the moment lmao

I read poetry a lot! I don’t write it though. I write stories(fiction)…more of novels though. I just love reading a good poem I can relate to =]

lol I wrote this last night. I love Williams, Pound, Marvell, and the Romantics

I read how Marvell, Wordsworth both decry’d
That want of cult’ral health they they espy’d
The last besought Milton to clear the fen;
The old called he from the Tribe of Ben.
Oh, how content they’d rest if but had they
Been placed into this time in which I lay
No genius with their head above the ground
To champion the poetic art is found.
Far less is there a soul that’s heaven sent
To return man his mind that he has spent
On vanities - some sort of futile fair
That bring now happiness before despair.
As he who, lonely, sits only to think
Can not but see our sould begin to sink,
As if poetry’s but some fleeting musk
Whose nect’rous scent fades slowly into dusk.

^^we don’t haha

I write fiction and poetry.* My poetry sounds like fiction and my fiction sounds like poetry (I hope). I read lots of fiction. I like poetry, too, but it’s hard to find.

*when I’m not filling out these stacks of blight-bringing paperwork.

^there’s a ton on the internet. Try out luminarium.org for older stuff like Milton, Marvell, and Jonson

“You’re the one mistake
I really didn’t mind
So beautiful,
unmerciful
It took me down
Too little and too late
See now I know your kind
You fake it easy
just to please me
Don’t you know
It’s not like we haven’t tried
over and over again
Sleepless nights,
wrong or right
Goodbye”

*very old but I <3 it sooooo much

I mainly write fiction =)

I write poetry a lot for publishing though. it’s fun to read, to dissect.

i totally do too.

…Really? I always thought he was a guy…Something about him explaining hockey with such gusto :D

aww, how sadd I’m sorry Maple

I love writing short stories - in fact I like anything prose - because I can’t write poetry for my life:P

I like to write poetry more than I like to read it. I’m not proud of that, but I run out of patience easily.
