This college admission game, to be honest, is the cruelest torture I've ever had in my short life. I'm virtually in an inactive status, which means that I can't do anything except for checking my e-mail inbox every three minutes.

I have other college options, but compared to Mac, those do not really 'match with' me.

Does anyone have any info. about Mac's Alternate List this year? I sincerely appreciate your kindness in advance.

I don’t have any information on the number of people on the wait list, however it couldn’t hurt to in some way show your continued interest and enthusiasm for Macalester. An email that has some question you would like answered or maybe just expressing your hope to be one of the students who is offered admission now that the May 1st deadline has gone by and they know how many spots are available. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Thank you for your advice, momof3D. It really helped me soothe my anxiety. I already e-mailed Mac, but didn’t get a reply yet.

Good luck with your admission.

I was enrolled to attend Macalester, however I withdrew my enrollment after getting off the waitlist at UChicago so there should be at least one spot free.

one of my friends was on an alternative list, and he just got an email from Macalester a few days ago. It notified him that there’s no spot for mac’s waitlist ppl, cuz mac was overenrolled. They expected 480 freshman this year, but, 600 ppl say ‘yes’ to go to macalester. so they said they would not give any admission to waitlisted students.
sorry 2 u guys…

I don’t think this is true unless it was a direct response to an inquiry. We know a few kids on the alternative list and they haven’t heard anything at all.
