Does anyone know anything about the EMS (Emergency Medical Services) program at UCLA?

I'm pursuing a career as a firefighter paramedic and I will most likely be transferring to UCLA for next fall.

Thanks

I took the EMT course through UCLA. You don’t get units for it (only community college LACC credit) and no GPA. It costs about 1000$, unless you get in through scholarship which is very competitive. I believe the UCLA EMT education is the best in the nation and their coordinators are all very fun/interesting/nice.

If you are referring to the UCLA EMS service that provide care around campus, i don’t know a ton, but its VERY competitive and I know many people that applied. Being qualified won’t really get you the job here, just about who you know, and how well you are perceived at interviews.

Your question is very vague, but I will answer it. Yes I do know “anything” about the EMS program at UCLA.

Ask some specific questions, but you will probably find more answers by googling: ucla ems.

you mentioned how competitive it is to work for the EMS and I figured it seemed like it too from what I read online. Do you specifically know what makes it so difficult to get in? Did your friends that applied get it?

Thanks
