Does anyone know how Andover notifies applicants?

Most of the other schools email or post results. Does Andover still mail? NYC private school deadline is March 12 so timing is close.

Not sure if they will change it this year, but in previous years, if you are admitted, you will receive you admissions package including FA decisions if applicable ON March 10 through FedEx. If you are waitlisted or rejected, the decision will come in through snail mail a few days after March 10 (I think all decisions are mailed out at pretty much the same time. It’s just the WL/rejections are in snail mail so they take longer to arrive). Hope this helps.

Andover snail mails to domestic students March 10 and emails notification to international students on March 10. If you are a domestic student who is going to be out of the country on M10, you are s.o.l. (We are). Andover says we may call March 17 to get decision from abroad over phone.

Yeah, last year’s rejection was snail mail.

Hope it’s a different result this time.
Good luck!

They are posting them on line this year at 5 pm.

Good move! Are they still delivering the admission packages through FedEx? If so, I suppose by then FedEx should’ve done their deliveries so that “fat envelop experience” is still there while the applicants who haven’t been selected at that point will get the decisions on March 10 as well.

@Benley I hope they keep using FedEx… and I hope accepted students get them before the online decision!

Yes, indeed the fat Fedex envelope delivered at your doorstep on the morning of m10 could make you feel very special, but we’ve heard a lot of complaints over the years from the applicants who didn’t receive them as they wouldn’t see the official decision until a day or two later, which was a little unfair IMO.

Actually, they just emailed me saying that at 5:00 PM I’ll be able to view the decision.

So I guess it’s online now. I prefer that, tbh.

Yea, they emailed me too. Online at 5 pm. sigh At least it’s not so suspenseful as opening a letter.

Yup, but it’s only four more days!
