Does anyone know how many were accepted this year?

I know that there were 90,000 applicants, but how many were accepted? I'm just curious because someone said that only 5,400 were accepted. I find that unbelievable as the acceptance rate would be 6%. Does the 90,000 include transfer applicants as well or something?

To all those who got in, congratulations!!!! :D

To the rest, chin up high. Every one of you is incredibly high-achieving, and your prospects for a great future are high. UCLA is overcrowded anyways, from my understanding.

" For fall 2012, we received more than 72,000 applications for 5,400 available spaces for freshmen"

From the decision letter.

There are 5,400 available spaces for freshmen so I would assume that UCLA would accept more than that number because there will be several students who will not decide to attend UCLA. Also, the 90,000 should be composed of prospective freshmen, transfers, and grad students.
