Does anyone know how the SAT scores your essay?

I've noticed here that people say they got a 6, 7 or 10 on their essay. How many people read the essay, how much of it do they read, and how do they come up with a score? Is it grammar, writing style, what?

Two graders read the essay, and assign a score on a scale of 1-6, and then combine the scores. If the individual scores differ by more than one, than a third grader comes in and fixes the discrepancy. They read the entire thing, but they do so in less than a minute.

I’m sure you can google the rubric that SAT graders use to score the essay.
