Does anyone know how to get to Lafayette from Lehigh?

I'm going to be a freshman in Lehigh and my best friend will be going to Lafayette College (i know, i know) which is in Easton about 20 minutes away (for those who don't know, although im sure you do!)
Are there buses that run from Lehigh to Lafayette, or at least close enough to get there?

No, there is a fence to keep lafayette people out. I suggest you shun your friend and never talk to him/her again.

While visiting Lehigh I heard someone state, " the easiest way to get from Lehigh to Lafayette is to do really bad your first semester…".
I have been to Lehigh twice in the past few months and have not seen any sign of public transportation, although I was not searching for it, it would be nice to know how those without cars can get around. My son will also be there in the fall, with no car.

I guess what the other posters are trying to tell you is that there is a huge rivalry between the two schools; legendary football game every year the weekend before Thanksgiving…

anyway, no idea about the public transportation situation but the A-B-E area does have a bus system… I can’t imagine that one cannot get from downtown Easton to Bethlehem…

This is the local bus system
[Welcome to LANTA](http://www.lantabus.com/)

the reality of it is that

you can’t get to Lafayette from Lehigh…

you know what? if your going to Lafayette from lehigh please don’t come back.

@whoever was asking about transportation.

definitely a lot of buses running locally. school provide some bus routes during the weekends (to the mall, movies, etc)

if you are talking long distance there is a really convenient bus station that operates to NYC and Philly with a load of pitstops in between. Beiber and Transbridge Lines bus companies.

transbridge ([Trans-Bridge Lines](http://www.transbridgelines.com/)) runs bus service from south bethlehem to easton

<< Are there buses that run from Lehigh to Lafayette >>

I’m surprised that nobody has answered the obvious “yes, but not back again”.

My roommate sophomore year was best friends with a Lafayette student; they’d grown up together. So it’s been done.

Here’s a good article on the Lehigh-Lafayette rivalry. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rivalry_(Lehigh–Lafayette)

Despite the difference in size, Lafayette has held its own in the football rivalry; that’s what probably bums out the Lehigh fans more than anything else.

My freshman year, 1971, the game was held at Taylor Stadium on the Lehigh campus. The steel goalposts were left up but coated with some substance that was supposed to prevent the students from being able to stand touching the posts. Some students wore gloves and tore down the goalposts (one part of which somehow wound up on the first floor of Richards House). A few weeks later, goalposts replaced, the first PowderPuff touch football game was held between Lehigh and Lafayette coeds. A few knuckleheads tore down one of the goalposts again. Ever since (until recently, I guess) the steel posts were removed and replaced with cheap, wobbly wooden posts for the L-L game.

I’m looking into the same thing. the best solution I’ve found is the
E - Easton - Allentown LANTA bus: LANTA

and the Starlight Allentown - Bethlehem - Easton - Bethlehem - Allentown:
Allentown - Bethlehem - Easton - Bethlehem - Allentown

these both go from Lafayette (or very close to it) to about 2 miles from Lehigh. The times are not the best last buses leaving Lafayette and Lehigh at 5:15 and 6:15 respectively. how ever on weekdays the starlight does run later, 9:00 and 10:00. but there still is the walk on the Lehigh side, and its not the best neighborhood.

thats what ive found so far, if anyone has a better way or wants to car pool this coming year lemme know in a PM.

P.S. to non-helpful people: i’m way better than you at Lafayette-Lehigh trash talking, so don’t even try.
