The website says they will be released in mid to late January. The 2015 NSP finalists are posted on the website - is the list this year’s finalists? Only finalists will be notified, and you don’t get a rejection notification, so Im nervous.
Back in 2014, my daughter received finalist notification on January 10th via a federal express letter. You could email the NSP at Clemson and ask if they have notified finalists yet. I think the 2015 list is from last year, not the current application cycle, as the list my daughter is on is dated 2014. That year, the list was posted on January 15th.
@mamag2855 Thank you so much!! This is very helpful. I think I will email Clemson to ask about whether they have notified finalists yet, and will make sure to keep checking my mail box. Thank you again!
The list is last year’s finalists. When we went to Discover Clemson Day in the Spring of 2015 said that it is extremely competitive with very few finalists. Most finalists are ranked in the top 1% of their class, 51% being ranked 1 in their class. They typically have ACT scores of 34 or higher and SAT scores of at least 1500. They have lots of ECs with a strong history of community involvement. Good luck to all whose waiting. I’m just waiting to hear back from Calhoun regarding my son’s acceptance.
@AWerth16 The list from last year is posted on the National Scholars website. Just google “Clemson National Scholars” and it should be the first thing that comes up!
@carolinamom2boys I fit all of the criteria that you mentioned, so I am really hoping that I have a shot! Do you know if I am at an extreme disadvantage because I am not from SC?
They didn’t make it sound like OOS students were at any greater disadvantage. They also didn’t identify how many applicants they had or selected. Good luck. I’m sorry I don’t have anymore info.
@carolinamom2boys No worries! Any info is appreciated - I don’t know a lot about the program. Good luck to your son with the Calhoun honors college!!
Also, if anyone is notified about being selected as a scholar, please let me know. I wish they would just tell us either way so we aren’t waiting for a letter that will never come!
I know you will get a letter either way for Calhoun Honors , but I’m not sure about NSP. If you have any other general questions about Clemson , let me know. I live about 45 minutes away.
Received finalist status packet in mail on Friday with information for the weekend in February but didn’t receive any emails about it (Snail mail confirmed )
