I want to enter a contest- preferably a national level one- I really enjoy writing (all types), research project type contests, photography, and other things along the creative side (meaning not math). I do like environmental science, if anyone knows of any opportunities for that. Does anyone know of any notable contests coming up?

:( Math is creative.

Off the top of my head…Scholastic Art & Writing, Intel Science Talent Search, Siemens Competition.

Here’s a more exhaustive list of stuff, though I’m not sure which of these are notable and which aren’t.

You can also look on websites that list scholarships, because some contests award scholarships to the winners.

The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) have both an oratory and regular essay contest that gives fairly good money and would probably look pretty decent on a college app (if you did well). the deadline just recently ended though, but there’s something for this time next year.

Dupont Challenge is a Science Essay Contest. Entries are due January 31st. There is a category about the environment if I remember correctly.
