Does anyone know of any summer programs (free or paid) available still?

Hi everyone, this is my story:

I started applying to around 10 summer internships (I couldn’t help myself… I love research!). However, as of now I have received rejections at all but 3 of them…

The programs I applied to:
RSI - (rejected)
JAX - (rejected)
NIH SIP - (rejected)
COH - (rejected)
Systems Bio - (rejected)
SUMMET - (rejected)

and some other local ones as well.

I was fortunate enough to obtain a summer internship at the NIH last summer (which was a life-changing experience), and I really want to do research this summer as well.

Here are my stats if anyone has any suggestions that would fit my profile:

ACT: 35

GPA: 4.0

Courses: AP (Calc BC, Bio, Chem, Stats) ---- all 5’s, IB (Physics), College (Genetics, DiffEQs, LinAlg)

Research Experience:

NIH intern, local research assistant, collaborator for online research group

Skills:

computer programming

If you got an internship last year at the NIH it should be even easier this year. I’m sure your PI from last year could have helped if you asked. If he doesn’t have a position he can still provide a reference for another lab.

^ That’s exactly what I thought.

I’m still in touch with my mentor on a frequent basis and have a great letter of recommendation from him. I wanted to intern at a different place this summer in order to get experience in other fields of science and with other “schools of thinking”.
