Does ANYONE know the answer to this question?

I applied to Brown last year basically for fun. I sent in my HORRIBLE SATII scores and now I want to apply for transfer and im worried about this (the international college Im going to doesnt require them so im LEGALLY allowed to keep them from Brown.) Did they erase my file? will they see my scores??? What am I supposed to do. Im serious about Brown now.

Thank You.

You know, you could call the Admissions office anonymously and ask.

Really? What would I ask them? Wait, I actually never applied to Brown (didnt think I’d get in) but then I had already chosen the “send scores to Brown” so that I could make the deadline. Brown got my scores but never got my application. Does this mean everything’s
erased?

I’m pretty sure they keep a general file of everyone who sends in their SAT scores. Sorry bro. Maybe it won’t make a difference because they will look at your college grades.

They do ask on the application if you’ve applied before, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they did keep things on file for a while, but this is just a guess.

But since you’re applying as a transfer, I doubt those scores would carry as much weight as it did when you applied as a freshman.

I mean you can still, you know, call and ask. You could possibly tell them that you never have applied before, and they might never realize the connection between your old SATs and the new application sitting before them.

The only way to really, truly get the answer to this is to call admissions. Just tell them your exact situation and ask whether the scores were kept and will be included in your file if you apply as a transfer. Ask what admissions looks at for transfers (whether SAT IIs, etc., are required). I don’t see why you need to do this anonymously. It’s a legitimate question, and asking it isn’t going to affect what admissions ultimately does. I don’t think you need to be paranoid about this – it’s not like your phone call is going to prompt them to decide to keep a file that they would ordinarily throw out.

No one here on CC works for admissions, no one here is going to know the correct answer. Call them.

how’d you do on them anyways

570 on US History (dunno why I took this, haha) and then 550 on MathI. I dont have a strong high school profile overall anyway. So im bascially depending on my ECs and my college GPA (which will, hopefully, be stellar). I think I might just apply to Brown for junior standing just to get my high school nightmare out of the way!?

Appreciate all of the opinions. I just wish I knew how much my horrible high school years will contribute to the final decision.

I have another question and this might sound too paranoid butttt: Say, im applying to other ivies (like Penn, for example) and they also have that policy “Wasnt required by your current college = no need to submit”, and I choose not to send in SATIIs; would the other ivies call Brown to see if I applied there and if so, did I send in SATII scores? I’d be ruined if that happened, right?

Honestly, I don’t think other admission offices(Penn or Dartmouth, for example) would call the Brown admission office and ask whether a certain applicant submitted his/her SAT2 scores. Comparing to freshman, I heard that SAT2 scores are not such a big issue anyway for transfers. (I personally asked this question to Penn admission office before, so I think this is particularly true for Penn.)

^Thank you. Answers a very important question. I was actually a bit demoralized.

Youch, are you a transfer applicant to Brown and/or Penn?

Whoa, get this: They just replied to my email telling me I dont need to send in SATs.
