Does anyone know the formula they use for acceptances?

I heard there is a formula that SDSU uses to determine who they accept. And what the min. number needed from that formula is?

Its something with your GPA and your SAT scores.

You can go to the SDSU admissions website and it will give a spot to calcualte your score both for in service area and out of service area because they are two different numbers. You will need your GPA and ACT/SAT score to do this. It also give the average for thos admitted in each category.

I myself don't need this, but do you have a direct actual link?

It is very helpful if you do.

Thank you.

SDSU I Want to Apply

After you click on inside or outside service area, there will be a eligibility calculator within the text and that will give you what you need.

Thanks any1can. That's really helpful. I never knew of that, but I'll now be sure to tell people.

Interesting piece of information that I never knew. Only applies to SDSU not other CSU's

"Students who fall short of the required test scores and do not enroll in the summer session will not be admitted in September" within local service area.

Incoming freshmen from outside the service area are required to have scores above the testing thresholds to qualify for admission.

Incoming freshmen at SDSU must do at least one of the following to avoid summer school:

Score at least 550 on the critical reading section of the SAT.

Score at least 680 on the writing section of the SAT.

Score 24 or higher on the English section of the ACT.

Score 3 or higher on the language and composition or the composition and literature Advanced Placement exams.

Receive a “Ready for CSU College-Level English Courses” on the STAR report.

Score at least 4 on the English A1 International Baccalaureate exam.

Score at least 151 on the CSU English Placement Test.
