hey there
i live in CT and my app was completed on 11/1 but i know kids who applied weeks after i did and already know. from what i can tell it seems like uconn is starting at the top of the app pile(GPA and score wise) and are working down. so the smartest kids in my school heard back real fast and then it seemed like the next “tier” of kids heard and so on. i still havent heard but im thinking i should soon as afriend of mine with relativly similar scores to me heard back last week.
also my counselor tld me that no one should have heard back from uconn yet because they arent supposed to be rolling admissions. she also said one year kids still hadent heard by march about EA apps
3.86/3.2 GPA
1240/1820 SAT
Top 30% of class
good EC
IS
applied to engineering

My portal says:

Your application was completed on October 18, 2011. It is important for you to check your application status frequently. Your admission decision will be posted here when it is available.

ARE they only accepting honors students first?

I believe admissions is purely random. The valedictorian of my class, who has a perfect sat score (2400), has yet to hear back from UConn, while many others, such as myself, have already been accepted.

I agree with you on this one. I know that the 3rd ranking person in our class heard back weeks ago. Then i started to notice it trickle down to the lower GPAs. A classmate of mine who has relatively similar stats as me did hear back recently. So i do expect something from UConn soon.

I sent everything in on Nov. 30 and got my decision on the 17th of december.
I have a friend who sent hers on Oct.28 and still hasnt heard.
I got into storrs for the physiology neurobiology major
the stats they saw were from my first sat and they were:
1180/1820 SAT (super bad at standardized testing but great in school)
gpa 4.65
rank 1/200
CT student
great ec’s and plenty of leadership(no sports, but many clubs and community service)
havent received official letter yet with merit money though

surprised i heard back so fast, but still waiting on my dream school in April :(

Still waiting. All materials complete on the 15th of December. Do you think notification will be before Holiday break? Any letters in mail?
Thanks!

My daughter applied Nov 30th, all materials completed a week later. She heard back on Dec 17th online that she was accepted into honors program, chem engineering.

I just got this “A decision is pending, please check back in 24 hours.” Will it definitely be up tomorrow?

@sop520 did you get an email first? then you checked your portal?

I never got an email, just randomly decided to check the portal.

I’m starting to freak out because everyone around me is getting accepted to uconn. Out of curiosity does it take longer to get accepted if your majoring in chemistry rather than art. Because my friends who got accepted were majoring in that field. Also another question, if you applied to the uconn combined medicine and dental program does it take longer for them to reply to you

has anyone gotten rejected/deferred yet?

My app was complete nov 2 and still no word…anyone else in the same boat?

Same here. Still no response. Everyone who applied for early action will probably start hearing back after new years. Best of luck to everyone!!! :)

mine was completed oct 18 and still no response.
is there a decision date?

FINALLY status changed on my daughter’s account to “decision has been made, check back in 24 hours” or something like that! Hope we get good news!

@applefan9 @ohsochristine Be Patient about the UConn admissions process. Just because you applied early doesn’t mean your decision will come the earliest. As for the notification, you should receive an email first before the status changes. Once that happens, you should get a package in the mail in a couple of days.
