Pretty good essay, I guess. Wrote about freedom and liberty. Looking back I think it was pretty stupid honestly.

Don’t know about scholarships / aid yet, but I assume it won’t be enough. Shame because AU is probably my ideal school, next to Georgetown (where I didn’t apply)

Most likely will not be attending because it will cost too much, so if someone is on the waitlist you may get in!

Guys, don’t post your stats here! Post them in the American 2016 Results thread so that people can refer to them in the future when they want to apply :)

I’m from MA and I haven’t heard anything either. I thought American was a pretty safe school for me to. I applied test optional to so they have had my application since November might they have rejected me because I was test optional? D: I’m really worried!

No email at our house either, and for some reason, American has my email instead of my D’s since we visited there, so it would have come to my inbox. Just checked D’s portal (she’s sick-sleeping) and there is no change in her application status. For those of you that go emails, congrats! But is your portal status changed?

Accepted to SIS! I live in upstate New York and the email was sent to me around 8:30 pm. I didn’t expect to receive word via email so I was really surprised by incredibly happy. AU is the first college I’ve been accepted to that really excited about :)

Accepted via e-mail. No mail received so far.
Probably have to wait until this weekend or maybe next week
Anyways, I’m so excited!!! Congratulations, every one!!!

I just got my acceptance in the mail today! I got an email last night but it felt so good to have that thick envelope in my hands.

Admitted to SIS with a $15,000 Dean’s Scholarship, $1,000 Champions of Excellence Scholarship (for Model United Nations)–all together I received just over $26,000 in financial aid. Plus, I was admitted the Honors Program, which I was really pleased about. I wasn’t sure I would be placed in Honors. The acceptance letter was personalized and spoke about The Hague International Model United Nations conference I attended last January. From what I have experienced, AU admissions has been the most personal of any of ther schools I’ve heard back from thus far.

@NewJerseyMom
i visited the school twice, once for a general info session & tour and one for an overnight visited targeted towards prospective SIS students. I also had a ‘nonevaluative’ interview, which they basically told me can count towards admissions by showing your ‘demonstrated interest’
i’m not that unhappy with the descision, but there is just no way i can afford to go there

they group the waves of acceptanes and rejections into regions. Like northeastern does. The northeast hasnt heard yet and niether has some others. calm down everyone

No one should worry if they didn’t get an email because I didn’t get one, and I just got an admission packet in the mail. I don’t know why they would send emails to some people and not others. oh well.

Definitely not the case here - D’s email hasn’t changed and she’s received several emails from AU in the past. And that excuse can not possibly explain the huge number of kids who are reporting acceptances without an email. If AU is offering that as an explanation, that’s just weird. And so too is the explanation they gave a friend who called - they are sending out acceptances in regional batches. My D knows several kids in our state who’ve received emails and/or acceptances while she has heard nothing.
