How USC calculates GPA? What do they weight/not weight?

Thanks.

non-weighted. They switched to it this year.

Wait....So that 3.8 figure that they came up with is unweighted (4 pts for A, 3 pts for B..) There is something fishy about that. It really seems sky-high. I mean Johns Hopkins' is 3.67, and Dartmouth is about 3.7...Any explanation..?

USC also only looks at core courses, iI believe. I don't know how JHU and Dartmouth do it.

Yeah, USC won't give me any credit for AP Underwater Basket Weaving, so I'm inclined to think it's core courses only:(

So do JHU and Dartmouth...
Does it go to unweighted this year, and it was weighted last year? Is that what redski meant?

ugh my unweighted GPA sucks...3.5...mainly b/c I took all AP classes and got some A's, but some B's in them...everything else is good, but does this mean i'm completely screwed for USC?

No. Just because they don't do weighted GPAs does not mean they don't consider the difficulty of the curriculum. You should still be fine.

Note:

You will need to do some digging around to find the acutal average GPA which I believe hovers around 3.8 (not 4.0!!!! )
