Is anyone in the School of Art and Design at U of M? what's it like? i've been looking at liberal arts/art schools (smaller, more attention), but I like that the school of art and design has about 500 students. u of m is known for its...um...not small classes so how big at the art and design ones?

That's a very specific question, and I don't think anybody on here has any experience w/ the art and design school. I'd maybe get on thier website and check it out...or email the department.

KB

Art makes a concerted effort to keep their classes small.

They recently revised their curriculum so all art & design students become well-rounded in a variety of media, and they also try to ensure they know something about the "business" side of art. One neat thing they do is bring in interesting artists to speak regularly via a lecture series. They've got a good person working in SoA&D recruitment so you ought to be able to get more of your questions answereed by her.

wow, thank you so much! i was about to give up on any sort of useful answer. :) i think its better to hear from a student involved, than from a (for all basic purpose) promotional website or a naturally biased professor. thanks hoedown.
